HEAVY TRACK AT BOWIE Going Favors Horses of Pronounced Mud Running Type, i Clean Gone Wins Consolation Handicap J. Mooney Rides Two Winners. BOWIE, Md., November 29. The Consolation Handicap at one mile and 70 yards was the main race of Mondays program at Prince George Park, run over an extremely heavy track, due to the rain of Sunday. Only five started in the race and Clean Gone was returned the winner. He was ridden by Mooney, who kept hUn in close pursuit of the pacemaker, Tom McTaggart. When the latter tired under his heavy impost Clean Gone had no trouble passing him and had a lengths margin to the good at the finish. Too much use of Tom McTaggart in setting the pace spelt defeat for that game racer. Incidentally Mooneys victory on Clean Gone was his second of the day, lie having piloted Tingling to success in the second race. A big unwieldy band of maiden races of all ages, made up the field in tiie first race and the spectators were astounded when the Wrack colt Nebulous, which was entirely neglected In the betting transactions, quickly dashed to the front and opened a big lead, increasing It as the race progressed. He crossed the winning line six lengths in front of Pansy, which in turn was ten lengths in advance of Flypaper. E. K. Brysons Tingling ran back to his last previous good race to win again today, taking the second race, a dash of a mile for two-year-olds. Ross.B.led from the start and appeared the winner wandttSrlflgthe"stretcb, jut"uddenly tired just when victory seemed assured. "He had little left when Tingling, coming from the. rear with a dazzling burst of speed after getting away slowly, assumed command and held the pacemaker safe in the final strides. The French-bred Manoevre found the going to his liking and, under a well-judged ride on the part of C. H. Miller, easily accounted for the third race. He was waited with in the early running and when Jean Bullant showed signs of distress quickly passed the favorite and easily drew away to win by two lengths. Another which found the going made to order for him was Wnukeag. He had shown in last race that he was about ready, so the talent gave him their confident support and he rewarded them by winning in easy fashion. Always close up he raced Deckmate into defeat entering the stretch and was clear at the end. Pilsens well-known mud running ability soon stood him in good stead today and enabled him to capture the closing dash of the afternoon. He closely followed the pacemaker from the start, passed him the last eighth and held him safe to the i end. Malvolio was second and. Runec-aft third. Lough Maiden was badly- cut down during the running of the first race. Senator Foley of New York was a visitor and will remain for tomorrows racing. Beaumarais was claimed Saturday by G. J. Sana-pria and Sunnyland by F. Farrar.
