FAMOUS ENGLISH MARE JEST DEAD DEADLONDON LONDON England March 10 The famous mare i Jest died Tuesday in foaling a stillborn filly at J R Joels Maiden Erlegh Stud at Reading Herks Jest won the Epsom Oaks of 1913 and was a beau ¬ tiful individual and royally bred She was eleven years old by Sundridge Absurdity by Mel tun Paiadoxical by Timothy Jest had not been a successful brood mare though her only living foals of 1918 a fill by Polymelns and of 191 a filly by Pommern sold for great prices She was barren in 1914 1915 and 19Hi and her foal by Sunstar in 1917 was born dead Jest came from a speed line Her brother Absurd 1909 was one of the best sprinters in England and is now a successful sire in Australia I
