DAM OF GOOD HORSE POMMERN IS DEAD There died in England April 8 after having foaled a brown colt by the St Leger victor Black Jester Merry Agiies dam of that good horse Pommern whose first produce to run Unison scored at ICempton on the previous day Bred ny the late Sir C I Hose Merry Agnes was a bay daughter of St Hilaire from Agnes Court by Hamp ¬ ton Orphan Agnes by Speculum and was foaled in 1900 She was sent to the stud in 1903 and it was while on a visit to Polymelus that Mr Sol Joel took a fancy to her and purchased her for 3000 To Sir Alan therefore belongs the credit of the mating which produced Poiumern although Mr 8 Joel is returned as the breeder The mare was only twice barren since she gave her first foal in 1905
