LATEST TURF NOTES FROM LEXINGTON LEXINGTON, Ky.. August 29. AVilliam Houston, representing AV. J. Salmon, is here seeking a farm to lease where Mr. Salmons thoroughbred marcs and foals now In Kentucky can be brought together on a place under his own control. Houston, until the recent Saratoga sales, was in the employ of AV. S. Kilmer. George Strate is also looking at farms on behalf of John Rosseter, who, like Salmon, has a number of mares in this section of the state and wants to get them all together at an establishment he will lease. John M.. Keegan, superintendent of the Kentucky Jockey Club here, who underwent an operation for appendicitis at St. Josephs Hospital last week, is in a serious condition, according to information from that institution this afternoon. None are permitted to see him. Edward G. Stoll, secretary of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, who also underwent an operation for appendicitis last Saturday at the same hospital, is doing nicely. Jack Mclherson today shipped the horses of Fair Acre Farm to Latonia. Jack Baker and John O. AVhitlow will ship their strings over to the Kenton County plant tomorrow. The yearling half-brother to Virgo, a bay colt by Pataud, owned by Capt. E. C. AAalker of Frankfort, and trained by John Goode, this morning worked an eighth of a mile in a fraction slower tmu 11 secQn,d.s and. did it moat impressively..
