Hirsch, who sold him the colt, ten per cent went to Fred Burlew, who trained him, and of the remainder the owner made Burlew a present of an additional 0,000. and presented Arthur Johnson, who rode him. with a sum said to be ?7,500. He also ordered Mr.. Burlew to "stake" every lad employed in the stable.
