LATONIA S GREAT FALL MEETING GRAND TOTAL OF 06,990 DISTRIBUTED DURING THIRTY-ONE DAYS OF RACING "BUD" FISHER LEADING WINNER THROUGH PROWESS OF SPORTING BLOOD The Latonia autumn meeting came to an end Saturday witli an immnse crowd braving the chilly winds to witness the final days 6port. Tile imposing sum of 00,990 was distributed in stakes aud purses during the thirty-one days of racing, during which time 217 races were decided. The daily average distribution amounted to 3,128. During the . spring meeting at Latonia 25,612 was distributed among the horsemen, so the grand total for the year is 32,602, a sum surpassing all previous figures for the track. Great interest was displayed and maintained in the racing throughout the entire meeting, even in the face of adverse weather conditions. The sport itself was of a high standard, productive of interesting and exciting contests between horses of all ages and all grades. It was a fortunate purchase on the part of H. C. "Bud" Fisher when he secured the colt Sporting Blood. The latters victory in the rich Latonia Championship Stakes gives the popular cartoonist the honor of heading the list of the money-: winning owners, with 5,935 to his credit. H. H. Hewitt is next with 1,000, closely followed by Montfort Jones with 0,658.
