RACE TRACK NEAR JACKSONVILLE, FLA. NEW YORKs N. Y.. October 20. Photographs and details of the new half mile track under construction near Jacksonville, Fla., have been received- at Empire City by Owen Pons and Wijliani Pearce, both of whom hail from the Florida metropolis. The track is being erected for the Florida State Fair and Exposition. It is located at Brentwood, one mile nearer to Jacksonville tlian old Monerief Park. H. D. Hauaford is the promoter. An inaugural meeting from November 11 to 20 has been planned for the new track. Running and trotting races will both be included iu the program. The stretch of the new track is 100 feet Avide and the backstretch eighty feet. It is located in a tract of land 125 acres iu extent, but additional property contiguous to the present site is to be purchased Avith the idea of increasing the size of the course to one mile. The venture is capitalized by local business and professional men of Jacksonville.
