The Maryland Jockey Club, the oldest racing organization in the State of Maryland, is anticipating one of the greatest meetings in its eventful history when racing begins at Pimlico on Tuesday, November 1. During the eleven days of the fall meeting the immense sum of 00,150 in added money will be distributed in stakes and purses. Certain it is a goldeu harvest awaits horsemen at the picturesque course on the outskirts of this city. The Pimlico Futurity of 0,000 added is the tempting prize offered to settle the supremacy of the two-year-old division. It is indeed appropriate that the first running of this valuable race should be a real championship contest. Such it will be, with the field composed of the unbeaten Morvich, which will meet for the first time the queeu of the fillies, Miss Joy; Buuting, the Futurity winner; Startle, the heroine of the Kentucky Club Stakes; the Rancocas star Kai-Sang; St. Henry, Jeanne Bowdre and others with excellent racing credentials. This contest alone would be enough to distinguish the Pimlico meeting, but there are nine other important fixtures that will command the attention of the patrons of the Maryland Jockey Club during the eleven days of racing. Aside from the Pimlico Futurity the Bowie, Walden and Pimlico Cups, together with the Manly Memorial Steeplechase, each with 0,000 added, will command attention and bring big crowds to Pimlico to witness the decision of these popular and interesting features. The serial weight -for-age races, three in number, the first of S2.000 added, the second of ,500 added and the third of ,000 added, at distances of three-quarters, one mile and one and one-eighth miles respectively, are also stake events that have become decidedly popular with horsemen and public alike. The Maryland Jockey Club gives-an added incentive to win these races of ,000 to the owner of the horse winning any two of the -three events. Another innovation at Pimlico Is the presenting if 0 to the trainer of each race.
