| TIJUANA RACING UNDER WAY Rest of Few Days Gives Added Impetus to Meeting — Rapid Stride Popular Victor. TMIANA. Mexico. December 31. — With renewed vigor racing U ok a fresh start yesterday aud instead of reducing enthusiasm and attendance, as might have been expected, the rest of a few- days seemed to give the meeting an added impetus. Weather conditions wre ideal for the renewal of the sport. A patronizing sun beat down on the track and the mud is fast turning into dust. This is true on the bai kstretch, where only a faint sign of the reeent heavy precipitation now remains. Fiom the head of the stretch to the grandstand the track is still deep in mud. Rapid Stride proved an ideal favorite in the main contest of the day, a claiming purse at three-iptarters of a mlie. He was almost back to the exclusion of all others. Aside from a brief period in the strerch he dominated the running and the finish saw him a length and a half ahead of Sam Reh and Horace Latch. Jockey Parke rode him wisely, being content to wait while Sam Reh essayed to take up the running. However, when Kapid Stride was released from restraint he again bounded to the front and from there on victory was assured. It looked only a short time for that astute horseman C. R. Irwin to win another ra e with his recent acquisition Commander. He elected to try for honors in the sixth race, at one and one-sixteenth miles. Oppaaed to him were a small field of what is known :.s "good tough track hor-es " Sans Pour II. and Tetaaak divided the bulk of the speculation, but Coauaaadec led tnem home hy a wide margin iind :■ i lie capable iMiag of lackey D.
