FRENCH TROTTING HORSE STUD BOOK PARIS. Prance. December 2S. — The trotting horse breeders associations have- petitioned the minister of agriculture to take measures for the foundation of a trotling horse stud book and also to change the official denomination of the breed from "che-v.iux de demisang" half-breed to "trotteur pur sang Krancaise" thoroughbred French Trotter. In the resolutions accompanying the petition the associations point out that foreign purchases of French trotters will be stimulated by the institution of a stud book for the breed and that the innovation will also tend to protect the French trotting horse breed against the admixture of "inferior foreign blood." The importance of the breed, both for commercial and army purposes, is also emphasized. |
