AMEXIIOAH FILLIES TEIUL2PH SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. PARIS, France, June 23. — American-owned fillies dominated the running of the Fiily Trial Stakes of ,000 added at Aiaisons-Laffitte Tuesday. A. K. afacomber*s Vanity Fair, daughter of Hesperus and Beady, ridden by Frank ONeill, won the race by a short neck from Joseph B. Wideners Natures Smiles, a sister to old Naturalist by Rabelais — Nature. The race is at a ha.. mile. The Filly Trial Stakes always has been a popular race, because of the fact that it gives turf followers the first opportunity of the year to see many of the choicest two-year-old fillies in action. The conditions specify that the eligibles may not be started previous to the running. This years renewal brought twenty-one fillies to the post and they were a representative band. The pace was fast from the start and the finish between the Macomber and Widener flliie3 was a thrilling one. As jockey Crump, who came over with Eugene Leigh this spring, rode the Widener filly and OXeil rode the winner, it was altogether a good American race. a .
