McLACHLAN TO TRY ENGLAND W. H. McLachlan, perhaps the best of Australasian riders, has landed in England, following for a second time the footsteps of such colonial successes as Wootton, Cars-lake, H. Gray and Bullock. McLachlan leaves a great record in Australasia. Cups have been his specialty, and included in these are Melbourne Cups on Prince Footc, Comedy King and Westcourt. In 1911 McLachlan went to England and rode for a portion of a season, his record being fourteen mounts for tvo wins, two seconds and two thirds. No doubt if he had remained there ho would have done particularly well, but the weather and constant traveling from meeting to meeting were not to his liking. It remains to be seen whether he will take more kindly to English conditions this time.
