AMERICAN PURCHASE AT NEWMARKET SALES LONDON. England, July 11. Paragon, a five-year-old hay horse by Radium Quintessence, by St. Frusquin, was purchased at the Newmarket sale3 today for American export. The consideration was 5,000. He will bo shipped on the steamship Mesaba July 11. The identity of the American for whom Paragon was bought has not been disclosed. The identity of the American breeder for whom A. de Rothschilds trainer, J. Watson, purchased the mares Pasta and Yokahama, also remains undisclosed. It was learned, however, that the mares were to go to America on the Mesaba July 14. Pasta is a brown mare ten years old, by Thrush Signorinctta, by Chalereaux, and was bought for G.0O0. Yokahama is a bay, foaled in 1911, by Santoi Spring Chicken, by Gallinule and was knocked down for 7,500. Some of the more important sales today were : Bobanob, ch. c, 3, by Lomond Bobbin, by Orme; IT. King, 5,000. Star Drift, b. c, 4, by Sunstar Dame dOrby, by Bend Or; Reggie Day, 4,500. Kings Idler, b. h, C. by Lomond Insight, by Winkfield; Frank Hartigan, 5,000. Claro, a three-year-old chestnut colt by Clarissimus Harmonica, by Isinglass, was purchased for ,750 for export to Australia.
