j I LATONIA IMPROVEMENTS AFTER FALL MEETING LATONIA, Ky., July 11. The shouting and tumult has ceased at Latonia. Horsemen were still busy yesterday shipping away. Some went east, some went to Canada, some to Maple Heights and many returned to Lexington to await the opening of racing at Latonia, August 30. Several hundred head of horses will remain throughout the summer months at Latonia. Col. M. J. Winn departed for New York, where he was calied on business. Mose Goldblatt left for Empire City, where he will race the Whitney horses and his own and then move on to Saratoga. No great improvement will be attempted at Latonia during the summer months. Plans have been in the making for some time for a new stand and betting shed on the site of the present betting structure. The old structure will be torn down and a modern stand erected in its place, but this improvement will not be started until after the fall meeting.
