QUIET AT SARATOGA SALES J Forty Yearlings Sold For Comparatively Moderate Prices Highest Price Is ,000. SARATOGA SfRINGS, N. Y., August 15. Sales held last night in the Fasig-Tipton Companys paddock were in direct contrast to the previous ones, as small prices were realized and the offerings, with few exceptions, failed to meet with the approval of the prospective buyers. In addition to this the attendance was the lightest of the meeting to date and many turfmen who have been liberal in their purchases were conspicuous by their absence. Forty horses were disposed of for a total of 3,950, an average ! of ,098.75. They represented twelve dif- j ferent consignments, the largest of which was that of A. E. Hundley. He sent thirteen into the ring and they went for ,300, an average of 15. All of the Hundley horses were sired by Everest, a young stallion J which is "at the head of Hundleys Monietta Stud. j White " and Garnett sold eight yearlings for 0,850, an average of ,356 each. A dark chestnut or brown colt by Jack Atkin Frances attracted considerable attention in this consignment and finally went to Walter J. Salmon for ,700.
