TO LEASE STALLION ASSAGAI NEW YORK, N. Y., September 23. It is of real interest to breeders that Willis Sharpe Kilmer is offering his English-bred stallion. Assagai, for lease for two years. This stallion is one of the most stoutly bred in this country, being a son of the Carbine stallion, ! Spearmint, and from the St. Simon mare, I Charm. With limited opportunities he has already proved himself a stock horse of im- j portance and his get were credited with win-! nings of almost 00,000 up to July of this year. His most successful colt is Angon, winner of S,933. Other of his winners are Charlie Summy, winner of 4,G40; Bianca, ,393; Dione, ,550; Misericorde, ,630; Besthoff, ,745; Sandy Mac. ,179; Anzac, ,072; Claymore, ,09G; Gray Gables, ,677; Ray Jay, ,369; Relay, 1,779, as well as many others. Mr. Kilmer has no intention of selling Assagai, but lie is offering him for this two year lease for the reason that he has no immediate use for him at Sun Briar court. He requires that he be taken over by a reliable breeder and lie insists that the lessee must have suitable bred mares with which to mate him.
