COSTIGAN began slowly, but improved his position rapidly and, finishing gamely, was a fast-going second. ST. ALLAN raced forwardly throughout, but tired in the final quarter. SEQUEL set a fast pace and raced ALLIE OCHS into defeat, but tired in the final drive. LADY INEZ met with interference when entering the stretch and finished fastest of all. PAULA SHAY began slowly. CAPTAIN ALCOCK raced forwardly throughout and, finishing resolutely, outstayed SEDGEFIELD. The latter was last in the early running, but found a clear course next to the inner rail through the stretch and made a game finish, but was tiring in the last strides. BON HOMME set a fast pace under restraint in the early running, but tired and loit ground in the last quarter. DEVASTATION was hard ridden, but was unable to overtake the lenders. MAD HATTER was prominent to the stretch turn, where he sulked badly and refused to extend himself through the stretch. Scratched 031943FiIIory, 108; G33813Hephaistos, 97. ? HUMBOLDT showed the most speed for a half mile, but tired when challenged. WOODLAKE dwelt after the start, but saved much ground when entering the stretch and finished gamely. CONTOUR was a forward contender to the eighth post, but tired. ROCK BOTTOM raced green. ETHNEA was hard ridden throughout the final eighth.
