I VETERAN TRAINER PASSES ON A. C. McCafferty, aged 78, an old-time trainer of thoroughbreds and father-in-law of jockey Frank ONeill, the leading rider in France, died at his home in Dallas, Texas, on September 16. McCafferty was well known on all the prominent tracks of this country, but confined his activities of late years to the South and West.
