AU REVOIR FOR TORONTO Woodbine Fall Meeting Closes in a Blase of Glory. Procyon Takes Durham Cap and Establishes Xew Track Record Carmandale Another Record Breaker. TOitONTO, OnL, September 27. The curtain on the racing play for the season of 1922 in these parts was rung down at the conclusion of todays sport at Woodbine. The Ontario Jockey Club furnished a program in keeping with the occasion and a tremendous gathering turned out to witness the sport. Two steeplechases, one the Coventry Stakes, ,000 added, over the three-mile course, another the High Flier steeplechase, ,000 added, over the two-mile course; the Grey Stakes, ,000 added, for two-year-olds, at one mile, and the Durham Cup, ,500 added, at a mile and three-quarters, featured the card. Horses from the J. K. L. Ross stable finished one-two in the Grey Stakes, the stable declaring to win with Prismar and Turner, was forced to pull Lilt up to a walk to let her stable companion beat her. C. K. Harrison, Jr., furnished the winner of the Coventry steeplechase in Courteous, which made all the pace and won in easy fashion from Minata, J. S. Cosden scorod his first victory at the meeting when Hallavill won the High Flier steeplechase. He came from behind after racing under restraint until the last half mile and won going away at the end. Carmandale hung up a new track record for the three-quarters when he beat Hildur by a heck in the North Country Handicap. Carmandale forced a fast pace in the first half mile and in the final drive lasted long enough to stall off Hildurs rush. The winner ran the three-quarters in 1:11. P. G. Christophers Procyon, by Marathon, won the Durham Cup in a canter. Fator rated him off the pace the first mile, then moved into an easy lead and at the finish won. going away by seven lengths from Baby Mine. Procyon took two full seconds off the track record for the distance. The Brookdale Stable goes into winter quarters tomorrow when the horses will be shipped to the Dyment farm at Barrie, Ontario. SEAGRAM STABLE TO WTSDSOR. The Seagram Stable, nineteen strong, leaves for Windsor in the morning and at the conclusion of the Kenilworth meeting a division of the string will be sent to Kentucky. The mares Woodbine and Anmut will be bred next spring to Herendesy, winner of the Kings Plate here a few years back. Procyons victory boosted his owner into third place in the list of winning owners at the meeting with a total of ,190. D. C. OMeara leaves for Montreal tonight to arrange for the shipment of the brood mares Gibberish, Constancy, Pesky, Tiarco, Wheatear, Maltha and Priscilla Mullens from the Ross farm at "Vercheres to Laurel. They will be sent from Maryland to the Kemplands Farm in Kentucky some time in October. Gibberish will be bred to Sir Barton next spring. Constancy to Cudgel, Pesky to Sir Barton, Tiarco to Boniface, Wheatear to CudgeL Maltha to Cudgel and Priscilla Mullens to Boniface. Pennsylvania, which has been in Kentucky all summer, will be bred to Boniface next spring. Jockey P. Walls left for New York tonight, where he will spend a few days with his parents before continuing on his journey to Laurel. Jockey Turner also left for LaureL The latter goes via Detroit. He will motor from the latter point to Washington. The two-year-old Canmore was kicked on the shoulder by Affectation while beins led off the track this morning. This accounted for his absence in the Grey Stakes. F. W. Dayton changed his plans this morning and sent his horses on to Chicago instead of to Maryland. There was some question as to the identification of the filly Miss Caltha yesterday, and W. E. Burke, who acted as paddock judge at the Thorncliffe course, identified her. Jockey Pickens was fined 5 and suspended for one racing day for rough riding on Tuesday.
