CARMANDALE forced a great pace until straightened out in ihe homestretch, where he passed DR. HICKMAN and out-finished HILDUR in the final drive. The latter finished in resolute fash-Ion on the outside and was gradually wearing the leader down. DR. BABY MINE,, close to the leaders all the way, moved up -well when reaching the far C turn, but could never get to the winner. PUSH PIN closed up gamely in the stretch drive. KELTH5 set a fast pace under restraint, but tired badly in the stretch. ANMUT was fractious when going to the post and attempted to run off. Won driving; second and third the same. CAHALAN disposed of FINOASTLE in the first half and took a clear lead, but was forced to his best at the end to outstay CLAYMORE. The latter, away elowly, slipped through next to the inner rail in he stretch and was wearing the winner down. BRASS TACKS was forced to come around the aders when entering the homestretch, but made n fast finish. MAYOR HOUSE was much used f orcing the early pace and tired badly. YORKIST began sluggishly, but worked his way up on the inside after rounding the far turn and, taking the lead midway of the homestretch, drew away decisively in the last eighth. SALVO passed ASSYRIAN QUEEN after going the first half and held second place safe in the stretch. AFFECTATION was outpaced to the stretch, where she came fast on the outside and finished resolutely. ASSYRIAN QUEEN showed the most early speed, but tired.
