The following horses that were turned out at Koger Mintons Guayabal Farm last spring and which summered in fine condition have been transferred to Oriental Park to be put back in training: C. L. Mackays Mrs. Grundy and Medusa; O. L. Fosters Kay S. and Relic Wrack-: Tom Cheeks Al Hudson; C. .T. Hurrahs Misorieorde: Charles Solomons Whlp-poorwill : C. Rertrands Felix M. ; James .Murphys Wedgwood ; Phil Lcydeckers Lieut. V. .1. Murray; A. Allegras Eugenia Gomes; M. Seiferts Rrother Maclean, and a couple of two-y ear-olds, the property of Willie Daly. A couple of Cuban-bred yearllnands, which will race in Roger Mintons colors after the llrst of the new year, also have been sent to the local track. They are a bay colt by Solomon -Clonakilty and a chestnut lilly by Sir Kdgar Magic Moments. Evidently Cuba must be a healthy spot to keep horses during the summer months, for all of the seventy-live committed to Mintons care last spring have thrived and have been returned to their owners looking better than ever. Minion has al the farm over thlrl5- brood mares, sucklings and y earlings. IM ward Cebrian has requested that twelve stalls be reserved for his stable, which was shipped here in charge of John Lowe at the i conclusion of the Dade Park meeting. According to advices received here Mr. Cebrian lias taken a contract on jockey F. Wilson and will bring the boy to Cuba to ride. Wilson rode here during the last two years, and two years ago he headed the list of winning jockeys at Oriental Park. AlAJOUS rSKlTI. STKIXU. E. 13. Major, who enjoyed a most profitable season al Oriental Park last year, has returned with a stable of six useful selling platers that include Golden Chance, Queen Alaaonia, Rallynew, llednion, Frank Shannon r.nd Twenty Seven. I In addition to the two that summered on the Island O. L. Foster has in his barn at present Currency, Article N., Col. Chile, Lul-Meme and Canny Lady. Calmito ami Sun Girl, the pair of three-year-olds that .Frank P. AVelr turned out at Guayabal Ranch last spring, have been sold to John Golden, a former employe of Weirs, who will race and train them at the coming meeting. Caimito surprised everybody, even her owner, when she won a race at Oriental Park December 13 of last year and paid her few backers in the mutuels a straight price of $: 17.50 and a place price of 22. Mr. Weir disposed of this pair, as he does not Intend racing this coming winter. Doctor Dicardo Dolz. president of the Cuban senate and an ardent supporter of racing and breeding in Cuba, will have only a small stable to race during the coming winter. His horses, which are being trained by W. J. Ralston, include the eight-year-old Pally and the two-year-old Cubnn-breds Matahambra, by Don Thrush; Putting Green, by .Malik, and Chaparra, by Solomon. C. 11. Smith has in training a stable of fif-i teen horses, eiglil of which are owned by Frank Del Rarrio, well-known Havana sportsman. Two of the others will carry the colors of Mrs. S. 10. Smith and the remaining I ! five will be raced in the colors of Coras Stock Farm. The Del Rarrio lKind include I Haywood, Little Colleen. All Aglow, Hurley, I Pocalello, War Plume and Slboney. The others in Smiths care are the Cuban-breds Caslik, Vueltabajo and Choricera, and the American-breds Berretta and Retreat. J. R. Carvallo, another Cuban sportsman, Avhose colors have been seen on the local course for seeral years past, will start the Avinter campaign with a stable of five that include the Cubari-breds Don Pehulo, a son of Don Thrush and Paulson, and Donna Novena, a daughter of Don Thrush and Western Dream. The stable also has the older horses Whippodrwill, Nig and Allivan. William Dondas, who has raced horses at , Oriental Park for the past five years, will l:aAe a stable of four horses to represent him at the coming meeting. The horses which arrived on the Latonia special are The Pirate,; Gonwithim, Brennan and Bullion. The last named Avas secured from Rome Res-I ptss during the Latonia meeting and should prove a good money Avinner in the Dondas colors. Jockey George Fields, who rode with considerable success last Avinter, is a recent arrival, and will ride for the Dondas stable, Fields had a profitable summer engagement with Rome Respess in prospect Avhen he fell r in a race at the Latonia spring meeting and sustained a broken arm that laid him up all summer. He is now fully recoAered and promises to be one of the topnotch riders at Oriental Iark. W. L. Drake, who campaigned a small stable here last year, has returned and will have four horses to carry his colors at the forthcoming meeting. The number includes Blaise, linen. Hullo and Janku. The last named is a first-class mud runner and was acquired by Drake by the claiming route ironi F. J. Kelley in Kentucky. 11. G. Woods, accompandied by his AVife, arrived from the North. His horses had pre-j ceded him on the Latonia special. The stable includes some good horses, including ! the fast sprinter Last One, a winner at the ! local track last Avinter, and which also won ; several races at the recent Latonia meeting. Ford Hunt, Avho has ridden at Oriental j Park the last two years with considerable : success, has arrived for the meeting. Tommy Brothers, who entered upon his j riding career at Oriental Park last winter, i but owing to lack of experience or an inabili-! ty to secure many mounts did not make much j of a mark as a rider, has reached here from Kentucky, where he showed much improvement in his saddle Avork. He is under contract to Dan Lehan, the Louisville owner, who has loaned him to W. A. McKinney for the winter season. With a little more experience Brothers ought to develop into a rider of considerable merit.
