EXPLAINS BEDWELL ACTION Maryland Racing Commission Statement in Regard to Grant ¬ ing of License to Trainer BALTIMORE Md January 15 In con ¬ nection with the issuance of a training li ¬ cense to II Guy Bcdwell the Maryland Rac ¬ ing Commission has issued the following statement statementAmong Among the licenses granted by tho commission was a trainers license to H Guy Bedwell and in connection with the granting of this license it will be remembered that his license to train was revoked by the commission in 1921 for conduct prejudicial to the best interests of racing but not in our judgment of a fraudulent character characterFiled Filed with his application is a letter to the commission in which he expresses regret for any past actions on his part in connection with the case of jockey Carroll II Shilling and stating that I realize that the best interest of the turf requires control and regulation by those in authority and it is my intentoin and desire to support and cooperate with turf authorities in all jurisdictions and to observe all rules and regulations laid down by them themBelieving Believing that he is sincere in this statement which is further confirmed by his satisfactory conduct during the past year and feeling that he has been suffi ¬ ciently punished we have granted him a license for the coming racing season and feel confident that our decision in the matter will be accepted without question and acquiesced in by all of the associa ¬ tions conducting racing in Maryland
