MONUMENT TO A B DADE Breeders and Horsemen to Sub ¬ scribe to Fund for Memorial to Popular Starter NEW ORLEANS La January 15 Joseph A Murphy after an informal conference with his fellow officials and some of the horsemen announced that he had been au ¬ thorized to organize what will be known as the A B Dade Memorial Association to erect a suitable headstone or monument over the starters grave at Henderson HendersonIt It was decided to ask 100 horsemen and breeders to subscribe 10 for the purpose In order to make the movement a popular demonstration no subscription of over 10 will be accepted Subscriptions will close February 1 and if the amount is oversub ¬ scribed the excess money will be added to the fund Blanks were immediately sent to the printer and will be distributed tomor ¬ row rowJudge Judge Murphy acting as chairman of the committee immediately appointed A J Stalling vicepresident of the Citizens Bank and a personal friend of Mr Dades treas ¬ urer and custodian of the fund fundHe He also appointed the following committee to aid him in the work Senator Judson N Camden Matt Winn Charles F Price Charles Berryman Thomas Cromwell E R Bradley John Dymond Jr G D Bryan Jr J B Campbell Herman P Conkling Joseph McLennan C W Hay Francis Nelson Harry Morrissey Mars Cassidy Algernon Dainger field W P Frascr J L Dcinpsey Frank Bruen John Hachmeister James Milton Larry Carey Earl Pool and Harry Shaw ShawThe The memorial stone will carry the inscrip ¬ tion Erected by the breeders and horse ¬ men of the United States and Canada
