TWOYEAROLD RACE Oriental Parks Saturday Pro ¬ gram Built Around It Edward Cebrians Nors eland the Winner Old Sinner and Fly ¬ ing Orb Score Easily HAVANA Cuba March 17 Todays pro ¬ gram at Oriental Park was built around a race for twoyearolds which was run as the opening dash It was at a half mile and a field of nine youngsters faced the starter Collectively they were the best looking band of youngsters that have gone to the post here this winter E Cebrian furnished the winner in the goodlooking chestnut filly Norseland which beat Dixons Pride by a nose The winner forced the pace all the way and in the stretch wore the leader down Clever Seth and Tis Seth first time starters from the Jones Stock Farm Stable were green at the barrier and began slowly Both are good lookers and will un ¬ doubtedly improve improveHeavy Heavy clouds overhung the course which threatened a deluge of rain but held off A large crowd was present and enjoyed an ex ¬ citing afternoons sport The majority of the finishes were close and some of them took the official placing to decide the winner This was especially true of the first two races in which the smallest of margins sep aiated the winners from their nearest rivals rivalsKIXETIC KIXETIC S TOUGH LUCK LUCKA A field of eleven went to the post in the second race a dash of five and a half fur ¬ longs They were an ordinary band as the time made by the winner shows Juanita III and Mister Jiggs alternated in making the pace and raced like a team into the home ¬ stretch where the field bunched up and Land ¬ slide coming from behind just managed to get up in time to win from Kinetic In start ¬ ing Kinetics hind legs slipped from under him and Burns had to pull up the Ogden gelding but he moved up fast when he got on his stride and a few yards past the winning mark was in front frontFlying Flying Orb made a runaway of the third race He outran the others from the start racing into a long lead rounding the far turn but was quitting at the end He beat Chevalier by a length Bloomington was third thirdMambi Mambi got caught in the webbing when the start came and was pulled up upOld Old Sinner was an easy winner of the fourth Stutts waited with him until mak ¬ ing the turn in the homestretch where he went around the leaders with a rush and easily parsing his opponents drew away at the finish and had an advantage of two lengths and a half over Memphis The latter set a fast early pace but weakened when the winner challenged Crestwood Boy was the favorite but was never dangerous and ran below his true form form3IAIBEX 3IAIBEX FltAXKEXIA WINS WINSFrankenia Frankenia a maiden threeyearold beat a band of older horses in the fifth race a dash of a mile Gupton was the one to set the pace opened up an easy lead in the first quarter and held command until making the turn into the stretch where Frankenia went to the front Groos had to ride Frankenia out at the end however to with ¬ stand the rush of After Night which fin ¬ ished fast Dinty Moore pulled up lame lameIn In honor of St Patricks day the programs were embellished with the harp and sham ¬ rock of old Ireland IrelandH H D Brown founder of Oriental Park will celebrate his sixtieth birthday next Mon ¬ day by giving a dinner to about forty friends in the clubhouse An elaborate menu and a highclass vaudeville entertainment will be enjoyed by the guests guestsAVilliam AVilliam Palmer one of starter Miltons assistants will leave for his home at Havre de Grace Monday to visit his wife who gave birth to a baby boy a few days ago agoFrank Frank Bridges president of the Liberty National Bank of Liberty N Y and Byron Grant arrived today for a brief visit visitO O A Bianchi who has been racing a small stable here all winter left today for Lexing ¬ ton Ky to take up some of his twoyear olds and prepare them for the Kentucky spring season
