HAVANAS WINTER MEETING Total of 372525 Distributed DistributedDuring During 101 Days of Racing J A Parson Leads Owners The long winter meeting at Oriental Park which came to an end Sunday embraced 101 racing days during vjhich time G35 races were run and the CubaAmerican Jockey and Auto Club distributed a total of 372525 in purses which amount was shared by no fewer than 223 winning stables The purses distributed were more equally shared than at any previous meeting with nearly every stable at the track getting a portion great or small smallThe The distinction of heading the winning owners list fell to J A Parson whose stable earned a total of 13900 W F Kne belkamp finished second with 10825 and the stables of W R Coe Williams Bros E L Fitzgerald and E 13 Major also fared well with substantial amounts to their credit creditThe The training honors for the meeting went to K K Karrick who saddled twentythree winners J A Parson also proving a success ¬ ful trainer by sending twentytwo winners to the post postThe The only track record lowered was the mile mark of l3SVs held for four years by James and which the Canadianbred Chief Spon ¬ sor shattered on December 6 by running the distance in 1 38 One record was equaled when Tony Sue on March 11 ran five and a half furlongs in l05Vs and the best time for threequarters hung up during the winter was 1 llvf threefifths of a second slower than the track record Buddie Kean Dr Hickman and Perhaps were the horses to run threequarters in 111 and Belle of Elizabethtowns 59 was the best registered for fiveeighths Her time comes within threefifths of a second of the track mark Master Hand from the stable of W R Coe ran the fastest mile and fifty yards of the meeting His time was 141 twofifths of a second slower than the track record recordMountain Mountain Lassie and Perhaps were tied for being the most frequent winners at the meeting Each horse won seven races there ¬ by equaling the record of Belle of Elizabeth town the most frequent winner last year yearBelle Belle of Elizabethtown Chief Sponsor and Carrie Moore were much in evidence each accounting for six races racesPilades Pilades the Cubanbred gelding by Orestes Idiola owned by the Caimito Stable heads the list of winning twoyearolds at this meeting by winning three races and Liborio another Cubanbred juvenile and Quail an Oklahomabred were the
