The seventeen-year-old horse Fayette, which died a few days : p,o. was a much better race horse than sire. He won the Tremont Stakes and the first half of the Ooubte Event at two. and was second at the same age in the Great American and Great Tiial Stakes. He was placed in nine races as a three-j- year-old. rur.ninsr second for lite Metropolitan Handicap. Brooklyn Derby and Tidal Stakes, while he was third to good horses in the Withers and tatiton Stakes. Suburban Han-" dicap. the Realization. Advance and Travers Stakes. At four he won the Kings County ! and l ong Beach Handicap and was second for the Excel: ior Handicap. As a sire the best of his get was the fast and game mare Lady Kotha. though Prodigious, Luxury. Marse John and other winners were by him. The horse died the property of IVobert L. Gerry, who had hopes that the son of Jgden and Saratoga Belle would sire MM winners for him at his new stud in this state.
