. w ■ ■ OLD ENGLISH OWNERS RACE Fixture Which Has Been Run Annually for 261 Years in the Wold Country. LONDON, April 1.— A horse race which baa been held annually for 261 years, took plaoe on March 15 in the high Wold country between Kiplingcotes and Middleton-on-tha Wolds. The starting point is only about a mile from Kiplingcotes Station, but the finishing point is four miles further away. The conditions as laid down says the Yorkshire Post are: "For a horse race to be observed and ridd yearly on the third Thursday in March, open to horses of all ages, to carry horsemans weight, 10 stonea, exclusive of saddle and bridle, to enter at ya post, before eleven oclock on the morning of ye race. The race to be run before two." There were only three entries on Thursday, and the winner was Captain Reynards nomination, with Mr. Towses Illromc Mole Catcher, which won last year, second, and the nomination of Mr. Towse Nofferton; a bad third. Owners were up on all three • horses.
