MINOR CANADIAN MEETING Maisonneuve Track Will Open the Quebec Season May 5, According to Announcement. MONTREAL. Que.. April 25.- The local racing season will open Saturday, May, 5, at the Maisonneuve course, instead of May 19 at Mount Royal, as previously announced. The reason for the shift in dates i* the arrival of warm weather. The track has dried out rapidly under the influence of the warm sun and conditions appear favorable for the earlier start. Sheridan Clark, who will serve as racing secretary on the tracks which operate under the jurisdiction of the Quebec Breeders and Racing Association, arrived here Tuesday to begin work on the program books for the Maissonnenve meeting. The shift in the schedule to make the earlier opening possible will mean a readjustment of the dates previously announced for the entire circuit. The revised date schedule in detail will be announced shortly.
