The most impressive moves observed by the workwatchers were Bo McMillans mile in 1:41 and Nassaus three-quarters in 1 :13Vb-Danny Connelly was in Bos saddle and Pa- o of j-ader was pacemaker for the Pendergast fj Derby candidate. E Mack Garner was Nassaus pilot and he l got more out of the Frederick Johnson can- a didate for the great Churchill Downs race ■ than his regular exercise boy has been able v to produce. f, IMPRESSIVE SEVEN-EIGHTHS. ■ h After doing the three-quarters the colt c galloped out the seven-eighths in 1:27**;. Behave Yourself, for the Derby -of two years ago, worked three-quarters in 1:12%, while Blossom Time covered the same v route in 1 -Ao2. Barnes is due here tonight with a Whiskaway, United Verde and others. John . Lowe today cancelled his reservation for six stalls, deciding that his horses are not quite ■ ready for this meeting. W. E. Caskey. Jr., has engaged jockey C. Studer to do his riding during the Kentucky campaign. Caskey has six in his string, they being Easter Bells, Finday, Broom Dame, Blue White. London Smoke and Long Green. E. B. McLean has shipped the young mares Giarre, by Maintenon — Gibberish, by Pres-~l tige. and Dream of Allah, by Colin — Garden | of Allah, by Star Shoot, here to be bred to horses at the Himyar Stud. Walter J. Salmons Steplightly has a colt J foal by Brown Prince. It. T. Wilsons Jean J Foquette has a bay colt by -Campfire at Kirklevington Stud and goes to Campfire. . J August Belmonts Balancoire has a bay colt by Hourless and goes back to Hourless. Betty Sue, shipped from Nashville by W. W. Harden to be mated with Edward Ce-brians Troutbeck. arrived today. Col. W. E. Applegate is one of the advance guard who has come for the races. W. E. Walsh of Covington also is here. , Col. Bob Baker is expected about May 1 from Tijuana. . The annual meeting of the Thoroughbred , Horse Association members will be held here next Wednesday evening. A. B. Hancocks 1 term as president is expiring. Col. E. R. Bradley is vice-president and it is likely that he will be the next president of the organiza- tion that has done so much since lfM for f the advancement of tjhe racing interests and has been so little understood by many f of those who have been most benefited by it.
