LOUISVILLE. Ky„ April 25.— Several Derby candidates at Churchill Downs were given longer gallops today and, as a conse- r quenee, two showed creditable workouts at a mile and an eighth. Prince K., with jockey Kelsay up and accompanied by Commander McMeekin. was first out. He shook Commander McMeekin off at the half and con- t tinned on his way by himself. Richards took Pravus and Kremlin to Lexington this afternoon. DOZER SHOWS GOOD MILE. Dozer, one of the 1 est of the John E. Madden Derby eligibles, showed a good mile when he ran the first quarter in 24 2-5. half in 49, three-quarters in 1:15 and mile in 1:45 3-5. Macl.ir. another Madden candidate, was not . so speedy as Dozer. His time was quarter 26 4-5, half 53 2-5. three-quarters in 1:21 2-5 i and mile in 1:51 2-5. These colts worked I separately and were ridden by jockey Sharp. United Verde and White Star worked together and showed the most impressing r seven-eighths of the spring training season. They galloped the first quarter in 24. half f in 49 3-5. three-quarters in 1:14 3-5 and seven-eighths in 1:28 3-5. None of the C. W. Clark stable will go to Lexington. Whisk-, [ away and Tom Hare Jr. in the same stable worked a good mile, but trainer Barnes is ., still having trouble about getting Whiskaway . to work. He is inclined to sulk when called on to take to the track. These two were , caught the first quarter in 25, half 51 2-5. three-quarters in 1:11 2-5 and mile in 1:44. Price went to Lexington to aid the racing officials there in passing on jockey and trainer licenses for the year. •Ham" Keene did not take Alice Blue Gown or Flowers of Love to Lexington. He went today with Chittagong, I-lewellyn and Jeane Bowdre. Titania, the once-popular race mare, owned by Shelby West, foaled a chestnut filly by El Mahdi today. It was reported at Churchill Downs today that Kay Spence. trainer for the Audley Farm Stable Montfort Jones, would not go to Pimlico. but is to bring the entire Jones stable to Kentucky. Bobbie Gaylor. agent for the Jones stable, arrived at Douglas Park last night with the advance division of the Jones horses, including Dan E. OSullivan, Derby candidate: Sea Wrack, Belzoni, Scissors, Widgeon and eleven highly-tried two-year-olds. The two-year-olds are said to be well advanced toward racing condition. The first division of ten of the H. P. Whitney two-year-olds, intended for Kentucky racing, are due to arrive at Churchill Downs Thursday. The youngsters are consigned to Mose Goldblatt. Alex Gordon, trainer for "Bud" Fisher, i3 now enroute for Belmont Park with the Fisher stable of more than twenty racers. He loaded two cars at Douglas Park Tuesday afternoon. Cartoonist and Hyperion, Derby eligibles, were given a good gallop before being placed on the cars. Both are in great condition. It is Mr. Gordons intention to bring Cartoonist back to Kentucky to start in the Derby. William L. Martin also is on his way with a pretentious band of racers for Pimlico. He got away from Churchill E owns Tuesday I evening. In the entourage are Valador and Scoop, both named for the Preakness Stake* and Kentucky Derby. *
