RANCOCAS STABLES RECORD Zev and His Stahlemates Make Remarkable Showing in the Racing of 1923 While Benjamin Irish has been one of fortunes favorites in his adventures on the English turf, the same dame fortune has also been lavish in her gifts to Harry Sinclair, owner of Zev, on this side of the Atlantic. In 1921 a new stable to the American turf performed the unusual feat of winning, more money than any of its competitors and gained the leadership in the first year of its existence. This was the Rancocas Stable, owned by Harry Sinclair and trained by the remarkably skillful trainer, Samuel C. Hildreth. Again in 1922 the Rancocas Stable duplicated its success of the previous year and now for the third year in succession occupies the same exalted position, without any danger of losing it In fact, there is a splendid chance for the Rancocas Stable surpassing the worlds record mark of the late James R. Keene, made in 1907, when the wonderful collection of horses that carried those popular silks won 97,342, the largest sum ever won in any one year in this or any other country. In view of this contingency and the fact that Zev, the chief winner of the Rancocas Stable, will represent America in the International race at Belmont Park, a summary of the performances of the Rancocas Stable in this years racing is timely and is here presented, the records covering the racing from January 1 to and including Wednesday, October 17: Horse. 1st. 2d. 3d.
