LAUREL 0,000 RACE OFF My Owns Owner Declines Proposed Contest with Zev Unless Track Is Fast. LAUREL, Md., Oct 18. Admiral Grayson, owner of My Own, today declined to permit his colt to meet Harry F. Sinclairs Zev should the latter be winner of the International contest at Belmont Park on Saturday. The Maryland State Fair offered a prize of 0,000 for a race to be run on October 25. Today Admiral Grayson stipulated that the track should be fast. This brought about the hitch which caused the abandonment of the race. The officials of the Maryland State Fair were unable to see their way clear to advertise the biff race and should rain fall and change the track conditions then to declare the contest off. Word to that effect was sent to trainer S. C. Hildreth today. Trainer Burch in speaking of the race said that the stipulation of a fast track was necessary. My Own started in the mud once and was beaten by a common selling plater. Admiral Grayson in speaking about the proposed Zev-My Own race said: "I am not asking for any unfair conditions. When Mr. Belmonts colt Hourless raced against Omar Khayyam in their match race at Laurel trainer Hildreth insisted that the track be fast I am only asking that the track be good, and the fact that my colt has shown that he cannot untrack himself in heavy going I am sure is reason enough for my asking that this condition be made. It certainly is not an unreasonable thimr to ask."
