COEUR DE LION, prominent in the early racing, was shuffled back while rounding the far turn, but clipped through on the inside on the stretch turn and, racing into a long lead, won in a canter. MELACHRINO raced close up throughout and gamely outfinished FLYING DEVIL. The latter displayed the most speed to the last turn, but tired in the last sixteenth. SWEET AND PRETTY raced as if sore. BABBLING suffered froir early interference, but raced through on the inside afterward and improved her position gamely. RAMC ran well. GLADYS V. and QUICK TIME raced extremely wide for the first half mile, but both finished fast. TICKLER wheeled at the start. SUN SILENT was badly kicked and lamed while at the post by SEASTAKE and was excused from starting. CORDELIER set a slow early pace, but led on sufferance and quit badly. ANTERIOR refused to join the others at the start.
