PLAY ON ran well in the going, took the lead at once and easily held the race safe all the way. KIDNAP raced prominently and finished gamely. LA VAGUE began slowly, but worked his way up steadily and finished fast. LADY MABEL closed a gap with a rush in the last quarter. CLINGING VINE showed speed, but tired. REDBRAND finished resolutely and outgamed MAY BUDDY- in the final drive. The latter ran well. . CHAMPLAIN. helped by the going and a grod ride, was rushed to the front soon after the start and, after being headed, saved ground when HEELTAPS ran out and took the lead again, but was doing his best at the end. HEELTAPS raced to the leader rapidly after rounding the turn out of the back-stretch and took the lead, but lost much ground when she ran out when entering the homestretch, then closed up again and would have won in a few more strides. THE ROLL CALL rushed into the lead and set a good pace, but could not withstand the winners challenge. NIGHT RAIDER was prominent throughout. HIGH SPEED ran well, but could never get to the leaders.
