LA VAGUE and LADY MABEL began sluggishly. STEVENS lost his rider at the half mile post. FASKADALE led early, then was saved within striking distance of BRIGANNA, and responding well wore her down in the last half mile and drew away on the flat after taking the last jump. BRIGANNA took an easy-lead in the first half mile and ran a good race, but tired in the final diive. CHUCKLE raced gamely throughout. PIRATE GOLD was always outrun. ST. LAWRENCE had no mishaps. Won driving; second and third the same. FRANK MONROE, close up from the start, gained rapidly when called on in "the stretch, and won in the last stride. COTE DOR began slowly and was forced to work his way up on the outside and passed MARY MAXIM in the stretch, but tired after taking the lead. MARY MAXIM raced in closest pursuit to the last eighth, and finished gamely. LITTLE AMMIE finished fast. SrUGS tired. FLEER quiet after setting the pace to the far turn. The latter raced close up from the start and took the lead in the stretch, but could not withstand the winners rush. LADY ZEUS closed a big gap and finished with a belated rush through the stretch. WILD FLOWER was prominent all the way, but tired in the final drive. EXPLOSIVE finished well. THE LAMB quit after setting a good pace to the last turn.
