NEW ENGLISH BETTING TAX SPECIAL CABLE. LONDON, Eng., Nov. 14. The parliamentary committee appointed to investigate the question of levying a tax on race betting will recommend a two and a half per cent tax on all betting transactions to be administered by means of stamps, it was predicted here today. This tax, it is estimated, will produce a revenue of 5,000,000 annually. The committee report will probably be issued within a few days.
