MARY DEAR, also away fast, raced in closest pursuit throughout and made a game finish. SAM MENGEL began somewhat slowly and made a fast finish. SHIRLEY LOUISE ran fairly well. ARROWHEAD began slowly and had to j overcome interference, but finished with a rush. VENIZELOS was ridden wide on all the turns and made a fast finish. CHARLIE SUMMY set a fast early pace, but began tiring after reaching the stretch, j HYSTERIA had a rough race and tired in the last eighth. ARCHIE ALEXANDER showed improvc- nicnt.
