J. S. HEALYS PUBLIC STABLE Trainer Has Twelve Horses in His Charge at Belmont Park Course. These Thoroughbreds Divided Between Five Owners Drothcr-iii-Law of Mrs. F. Ambrose Clark to Race Three Ilorses. NEW YORK, N. Y.. Jan. 30. When J. Simcn Healy departed last Thursday for his annual winter vacation at St. Petersburg, Fla., he left the horses in his charge at Belmont Park in fine condition. Mr. Healy maintains a public stable and at present has the horses of five owners in his care. The twelve horses in the Healy stable are owned by Mrs. E. B. Cassatt, R. Penn Smith, Jr., Mrs. F. Ambrose Clark, Robert S. Clark, and L. A. Price. Robert S. Clark is a brother-in-law of Mrs. F. Ambrose Clark. Ho is a newcomer to the turf. Mr. Healy is handling three horses for him. Two of them are two-year-olds as yet unnamed and the other is Alcyone, a seven-year-old mare by Atlas Chione. Mrs. Cassatt, who last j-car raced one horse, Chesterbrook, under the name of the Chesterbrook Stable, will return this year to the historic Cassatt colors red, white and blue which were abandoned last year for mourning colors in honor of her late husband. In addition to Chesterbrook she now has a two-year-old home-bred filly, Fairy Fires, which is a half-sister to her stable companion. R. Penn Smith, Jr., has three horses in training. Two of these are two-year-olds and the other is the four-year-old Sister Sue. Mrs. F. Ambrose Clark has two juveniles. L. A. Price has the three-year-old Previeux and a two-year-old colt. A number of other owners have arranged to send horses to the Healy training stable before the spring season opens. Healy has the apprentice, A. Hunt, under contract for the coming racing season.
