EVELYN was lucky in being fcrced back soon after the start, as it enabled her to save much ground on the stretch turn and, under hard riding, took the lead and outstayed BARNEY GOOGLE. The latter bolted on the stretch turn and forced WIIEATON wide, but came fast in the final drive and outstayed WI1EATON. The latter, probably best. sufTeicd much by being forced out and made a resolute finish. SAM MENGEL ran a good race. MILLIE G. ran fairly well. The others were always outrun. Won easily; second and third driving. ROCK BOTTOM began slowly, but gained steadily and, coming with a rush through the last eighth, oulfinished CAPTAIN COSTIGAN. The latter came from far back in the stretch and raced gamely throughout. STAMP showed the most early speed and set a fast pace, but began tiring in the last sixteenth. SWORD, probably best, was forced back to last place and ridden wide, but came with a great rush through the stretch. RAPID DAY quit after racing well to the stretch. The latter suffered from interference in the early running and finished witli a rush. SECOND THOUGHTS acted badly at the post and showed line speed in pacemaking, but tired near the end. EXODUS raced into the lead, but tired in the last eighth. CERTAIN ran well. CENTIMETER tired. BRADLEYS TOXEY was interfered with repeatedly. CASH raced as if much the best, was far back in last.place in uic first quarter but closed a big gap and was going fastest at the end.
