GREENTREE STABLE OF 1924 Mrs. Payne Whitneys Horses Should Do Well This Year. Trainer Scott Harlan Has Main Division of Hie String in "Winter Quarters Ilclmont Park. NEW YORK, N. T.. Feb. 20. S. P. Harlan has the main division of the Grecntree Stable in winter quarters at Belmont Tark. His charges number fourteen, eight of which arc wo-y ear-olds and six older horses. All are in excellent condition. Four of the two-year-olds are homebreds and the other four were purchased for Mrs. Payne "Whitney at the Saratoga yearling sales last August. The youngsters appear to be a promising lot. Wild Aster and See It Through, both three-year-olds, have been gelded during the winter. Untidy, the filly which gave Zev such a strenuous battle in the Lawrence Realization, has apparently recovered from the effects of that hard race. She has grown and filled out during the winter and is expected to stand training again in the spring. THE E TOP DEVELOPS. Tree Top, winner of the Endurance Handicap at Bowie last fall, appears to be the most promising of the three-year-olds in the Greentree string. She showed excellent form during the rfutumn racing and she has developed during the cold months. A division of the Greentree Stable has been racing successfully at New Orleans this winter in charge of Clyde Phillips and a few of the horses are wintering at Brookdale Farm in the care of James Rowe. The Greentree jumpers are at Belmont Park in charge of Vincent Powers. Mrs. Fayne Whitney may look forward tc the coming season with reasonable hope of repeating the wonderful record made by the stable last season when her establishment finished the year in second place among the money-winning owners. Only the record-breaking Rancocas Stable won more money than the Greentree establishment during 1923. The Greentree Stable total was 99,052. C03iriiT3TE STAHLE HOSTER.
