HORSES SAVED FROM FIRE Headquarters Buildings of Troop K., State Constabulary, Destroyed Stock Rescued. One hundred horses, including a number of thoroughbreds, were endangered by a fire Ahich swept the buildings of Troop K, New York State Constabulary, at White Plains, Tuesday night. The buildings were destroyed at an estimtaed loss of 00,000, but all of tho horses were rescued by the troppers. The stallions Cock o the North, The Bohemian and Upsalquitch were among the horses rescued. Cock o the North was donated. to the Jockey Club Breeding Bureau by Mrs. Payne Whitney. The Bohemian was the gift of A. K. Macomber and Upsalquitch was donated by P. 11. Hitchcock; There were about sixty head of half-breeds ranging in age from foals to four-year-olds in the buildings which were destroyed. These horses, all of which were rescued, are the produce of cold-blooded mares mated with Breeding Bureau stallions. The older horses in this lot are to be trained for use of the constabulary this year. They are half-breds and three-quarter-brcds. There were also several thoroughbred mares nmcng the stock. The troopers lost all of their personal belongings in the fire, which started in the garage and rapidly spread to the other buildings. 4
