SARAZEN RESERVATION Trainer Hirsch Reserves Stable Room at Downs for Racer. .. May Be Brought West Early and Prepared for Kentucky Derby . on Scene of Big Race. LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 13. Max Hirsch, trainer of Sarazen, one of the choices for the Kentucuy Derby, has wired superintendent Tom Young for stable room at Churchill Downs. According to Mr. "ioung, Hirsch evidently contemplates preparing Sarazen for the Derby at the Downs and probably will arrive here early from tho east to get the crack gelding ready right on the spot where the big race is to be run. Max Hirsch is no stranger at the Downs, as ha spent several weeks here In 1920 conditioning Prince Pal and On Watch for the Derby won by Paul Jones. On Watch finished third after getting a bad send-off. Hirsch will bring along with Mrs. Van-derbilts Sarazen, his own Derby hope, Bowman, a son of Spanish Prince II. Veuvo Clicquot. Bowman" failed to run up to expectations last year, but he is said to have filled out into a wonderful colt during the winter and possesses great speed. Mose Goldblatt has wired superintendent Young that his stable of seventeen horses will reach Churchill Downs from New Orleans on March 21. "Bill" Knapp, the veteran jockey and trainer, also has requested stable room at the Downs. Knapp is training that great gelding Time Exposure, by High Time, tho sire of Sarazen, for the Derby. Time Exposure is a much larger horse than Sarazen and it is said he will have strong backing for the big Kentucky race. Superintendent Young is receiving requests daily for stable room at both the Downs and Douglas Park, and he says ii the demand for stalls continues as it has during the last few days every stable will be filled April 15. There are accommodations at both Louisville tracks for about 1,500 horses.
