April 23. -Willis j Sharpe Kilmer has divided his stable into ; two strings and one band of horses are now in Maryland being campaigned by John | I. Smith, while Charles J. Casey will bring | a division to New York for the racing over j the metropolitan tracks. There are no better equipped private win-j ter training quarters than those at Sun Briar Court, Mr. Kilmers elaborate thoroughbred i establishment at Binghamton. In former | years Sun Briar Court was. used to house [the brood mares as well as the horses in j training. It was ideal for the purpose, but . this year the brocd mares have been kept at Mr. Kilmers Virginia farm. Remlik Hall, j and the entire Binghamton farm has been for the use cf the horses in training. j With a wide, perfectly constructed indoor j track it was possible to keep the horses going all winter, and as soon as the weather permitted an outdoor track was available I that is the equal of any private training . ground. I j Mint Briar, the half-brother to Sun Briar, I by Assagai, from Sweet Briar, has been 1 turned out and will not be raced until the coming fall. He loomed up as one of the best of the two-year-olds of the early racing of 1923 and he has a chance to come back j a thoroughly good three-year-old next fall. ! The string that Smith is racing in j j Maryland is composed of Sun Iady. Sun-: magne, Sunayr and the two-year-olds Asek-j j ket. Cay Iris. Menthol, Sun Los, Sun Caris, ■ Sun Hope and Sun Hathor. j The Casey string is made up of Sun Rajah, Sunny Sal. the half -sister to Sallys Alley: Sunny Light. Craigthorne and the two-year- : olds Folly Coat. Saratoga Maje, Sun Circle, Sun Tess. Sun Polly. Sunsard, Sun Herodia, I Sunny Man and Sun Sabre. Those to race in New York will be stabled St Aqueduct and trainer Casey came down from Binghamton some time ago to make arrangements for their quarters. ] Following is a complete list of the Kilmer stable: Three -Year -Olds.
