WILLIAM GARTHS MISTAKE HAVRE DE GRACE, Md.. April 23.— William Garth made a mistake. He owned Sack Cloth, dam of the unbeaten Sombre, but taBt hep« in the marc- as a producer of quality when half a dozen of her foals turned out of little account as racing tools. Then he sold her for 00 to Major PYatt, who has, ■ farm Ma* that of A. B. Hancock in Virginia. When Sombre began to show form Mr. Oatta tried t . repurchase the broodmare, but Major Pratt turned down his offer. Sack Cloth was in foal to Berrilldon at the time of the sale last autumn and this spring has a colt foal by that sire.
