SARATOGA TURF NOTES I SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 13. Dr. H. J. McCarthy was an arrival from Baltimore for a few days of racing.- Stake blanks for the Latonia and Churchill Downs fall meetings were distributed today. Thos. C. McDowell, Rev. Thomas M. Settle and J. O. Talton, of Lexington, Ky., were arrivals for a few days of racing. Trainer S. C. Ilildreth will in all liklihood send a horse west to sport the silks of the Rancocas. Stable in the Chicago Special. Henry McDaniel, trainer of the J. K. L. Ross stable, arrived here to attend the yearling sale of the Laurel Park Stud Company. Joseph E. Davis has added his filly Eagerness to the s.ale of horses in training that will be conducted by the Thoroughbred Sales Company in the Saratoga Paddock, Tuesday, at 1 oclock. The principal consignment in this sale is that of the Riviera Stable of Victor Vivaudou. It was announced this afternoon that there will be no fall race meeting at Tanforan this year. The calling off of the meeting came as a result of the recent death of A. B. Spreckles and Frank J. Kelley, who were the chief backers of the meetings that were conducted at the California course.
