PRICES PICK UP AT SALES Improved Weather Conditions Result in Large Attendance. Better Trices Realized James Butler Aqulrcs Half Brother to Exalted Ruler for ,400. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 13. At the public auction of the yearlings from the stock farms of Estill and Madden, Kentmore Farm, H. H. and J. H. Gaines, Ayrshire Farm, Stonewall Farm, Harrison Nesbit, and others, there was renewed activity in bidding and as a. result much better prices were realized. The weather showed vast improvement over the unsettled condition of the night before and a much larger attendance was on hand. Several good offerings were led into the ring and elicited spirited bidding. From a monetary standpoint the star of the sale was a chestnut colt, from the Harrison Nesbit candnsigrmeht which was knocked down to James Butler on his bid of ,400. He is a half brother to Exalted Ruler, by Vulcain Croix Rouge by Sir Wilfred. Mr. Butler was also the purchaser of another, a brown colt by Vulcain Lady Emaline, by King James and therefore a blood relation to Spur. The Oak Ridge Stable paid ,200 for an imported brown filly by Son-in-Law Simmy. Following is a summary of the sale: Property of Estill and Madden.
