CONNAUGHT PARK NOTES OTTAWA, OnL, Aug. 30. Wes Sherrod is an arrival from Toronto. W. Kelsey returned to Saratoga to ride in the Hopeful. H. Gordon is making the engagements for Lee and McTaggart. W. Weathers arrived from Windsor with Marie Dattner and Sea Fairy; J. M. Mackenzie was among the days arrivals. His horses are racing here. Earl Walden was called home to Baltimore by the illness of his grandmother. W. A. Woolman came from New York to see his colors carried by Exalted Ruler. C. Patterson is training the P. T. Chinn horses here. Kelsay will do the stable riding. G. Foster in charge of colors was taken to Ottawa this afternoon suffering from pleurisy. P. Meegan. owner of the Don Valley Stable, came from Toronto to see his colors sported here. J. J. Murphy brought, some of the horses of B. Harding and J. P. Smith here for a campaign. Louis Angevine took in the racing today. He predicts a banner meeting at the improved Blue Bonnets course. J. Boden put in his appearance this morning. With his own horses from Saratoga lie brought Fane Lady for T. J. Donoghue. Fred Richard came from Montreal for the day. He reported much interest in the coming meeting at Dorval. Oo La La was kicked by a pony while being led over from the Windsor Jockey Club track and was excused by the judges from Starting in the seventh race Wednesday. H. S. Hart will ship to Blue Bonnets at the conclusion of the Kenilworth meeting. The stable includes Fredericktown, Foolscap, Nancy Langhorne, Poltova, Anne and The Fenian. Vain Ellie grabbed herself in first race yesterday and will be on the shelf for a time. She was running strongly in a contending position when she stumbled and threw her rider. Morty Mahoney departed for Baltimore to take care of the mutuels at the Timonium meeting. He left Donald Hay in charge here. Mr. Mahoney will return to the Canadian circuit on the second day at Dorval. Morty Mahoney, supervisor of the mutuels, brought word of improvements at Pimlico and Blue Bonnets. The bleachers formerly up the stretch from the grandstand at Pimlico have been converted into an extention of the grandstand. The capacity of the clubhouse has been increased about 2,500. A badly needed mutuel pavilion has been built at Blue Bonnets. ,
