MISS CALTHA WINS AGAIN Scores Her Second Success of Toledo Meeting Double Victory for C. E. Davison. TOLEDO, Ohio,- Aug. 30. C. R. Aldrichs Miss Caltha scored her second success of the present meeting when she led a- small but select band of sprinters at all stages of the Overland Auto purse, the fourth and principal attraction at Fort Miami Park this afternoon. The poorly ridden Feodor closed a wide gap to beat Pony Express for second place. C. E.- Davison scored a double. His recent purchase, John Joseph, made a show of his opponents in the fifth race, leading by a wide margin throughout. Jack Pot also showed the way at all stages of the third race to a handy victory. It was only after a keen stretch struggle that Rotarian got up to capture the curtain raiser in a drive. Hysteria also came from behind in the final eighth to annex the second race by a narrow margin from Quanah. Another keen finish came with the running of the sixth race in which Happy Moments outlasted the veteran racer Smart Money after the pair had contested the leadership for the entire way. Jockey Eames changed his plans and left last night for Chicago. W. F. Jones, president and F. Neid, treasurer of the Akron Racing Association, were visitors today and witnessed the races from the stewards stand. A carload of horses will leave here Tuesday for Aurora, 111., including J. Charles with two head, A. S. Eastman, four ; Joliet Stable, ; M. ONeill, four, and J. Boland, one. C. W. Ross will ship from here to Aurora, 111. Dr. L. Raymond of Clarksburg, W. Va., was a visitor today in the interest of the racing to be given at the Clarksburg, W. Va., fair next week when three races will be given daily for 00 purses. Dr. Raymond has charge of the sire Short Grass which is stationed near Clarksburg and reports that he has been mated with fifteen thoroughbreds this season. S. S. Bender, racing secretary, departed tonight for Wheeling, W. Va., to make preparations for the opening of the meeting there on Monday. H. R. Stewart claimed Lottie Loraine for 00 from J. A. Parsons.
