DOUBLE FOR OWNER CREECH Buckhorn II. Takes the Main Race For Him at Brooklyn Park She Devil the Other Winner. CLEVELAND, Ohio, Sept. 25. B. Creech supplied the winner of todays feature at Brooklyn Park in Buckhorn II., which came from behind after being far back in the early stages, saved ground entering the stretch and got up to win in the last fifty yards. Fair Rowena running for the first time in the colors of Mrs. J. L. Wade, was second after racing prominently all the way, while Seths Dream, the early pacemaker, lasted long enough to be third. Comedy, the public choice, did not seem to fancy the sharp turns and finished last. A good week-day crowd was present to witness the sport and the day was an ideal one. The track was in the best possible condition. P. T. Barnum made every post a winning one in the fourth race, which served as a secondary feature. Superanna closed fast to be second with Knot Grass, the favorite, third. She Devil made a double for B. Creech in winning the sixth in a driving finish from Foster Embry and Super King. "Nj. P. Fought purchased Daddy Wolf from fx. T. Whitehill and the gelding ran in the interest of his new owner today. Cheer On pulled up decidedly lame after his race yesterday and owner A. V. Thomas departed for Louisville today where the gelding will be turned out. J. R. Clark arrived from New York with his recent purchases, Sunshot and Sea Green, the latter a two-year-old filly recently imported from France. It has been reported that the useful gelding Guiseppi, in the stable of S. Polk, died of blood poisoning at Maple Heights early in tho week. Jockey J. Roberts displayed unusual game-ness in riding Athanna to a victory yesterday. The boy, who had his foot injured at Maple Heights on Saturday, had to be carried to and from the jockey quarters and rode with a rubber boot on his left foot.
