The fourth and feature race, the Roy "Wells Claiming Purse, at five and a half furlongs, brought out eight , fair sprinters and Auntie Millin, the well-backed favorite, made good in easy fashion and never left the result in doubt after leaving the half-mile ground. Simplicity, , carrying the colors of T. E. Crist, was the 1 one to get second place, while Theo, which , also attracted considerable support, was third. j Starter Dean had his hands full with this field and after a seven-minute delay he left j them to go in good alignment Shining Gold showed the way up the backstretch with , Auntie Millin right after her. Boys Believe , Mo was third and Simplicity was in . advance of the others. At the turn for home, Eaton had opened up a good lead with Auntie ! i ! Millin with Boys Believe Me and Shining Gold leading the others. In the run through the stretch there was a general closing up . of the field and Boys Believe Me and Shin- ing Gold faded out of contention. Simplicity and Theo moving up to second and third places. Auntie Millin was an easy winner , with Simplicity second a half length in front of Theo which beat Merrimac by a nose for third place. The card was made up of claiming races. It was ladies day and the fair sex was well represented. The weather was ideal for racing and a fast track helped the talent pick the winners without much difficulty. The first race, a juvenile dash at five-eighths, fell to M. J. Farris, Jr.s Glory in easy fashion. Black Dinah was the one to be second four lengths in front of the long shot Sir Ralph. After a brief delay the field was dispatched in good order and Majestic lost no time sending Glory into a good lead. Black Dinah was the one to follow her closest for the entire distance. Bay Dingle, one of the heavily supported choices, met some interference after the start and was forced back to seventh position but came fast after her recovery and ran a very impressive race. TOP HEAYT FAVORITE WINS. The" second offering, a five and a half furlong sprint, was a runaway for the top heavy favorite Pollymara, who went into the lead soon after the start and never left the ultimate result in doubt, winning by three lengths from Pinch o Snuff. Miss Fortune was third. Boganowski lost no time after the start came and Pollymara began a little slow but was hustled into the lead and Boganowski kept her there throughout. Pinch o Snuff raced after the leader but it was apparent that there was no chance for her to get to the winner and had to be ridden vigorously to beat Miss Fortune for second money. The third winner was C. Koerners Johnny Jewell by a nose over the well-supported Faber, which beat Holly Boy a length for the short end. After a brief delay due to the actions of Rapid Stride they were off in good order. Lucky Dollar was the one to show the way with Holly Boy second and Rapid Stride third. Faber and Johnny Jewell leading the others. They ran that way to the stretch where Lucky Dollar showed signs of weakening and Boganowski slipped through on the rail with Faber while Gorm-ley elected to take the overland route and go around his opponents. It was a beautiful finish, Johnny Jewell getting the verdict by the shortest of margins. CAPERS DELAYS START. Capers delayed the start in the fifth race seven minutes but starter Dean got her off with the rest of the field in good order. The winner turned up in Balefull, which was neglected by the players and was the first break for the books. Double T., which was the medium of a plunge, was the one to be second and Joe Tag, which was making his initial appearance here, was third and he ran a good race. Balefull had no trouble after leaving the half-mile post although Majestic took no chances and rode him out at the finish. W. J. Potter sent his first winner to the post since taking out his license when his Polvo made a show of his company in the sixth race. The Derby Stables Margaret Ware was the runner up and Lugs third. The run up the backstretch saw Polvo enjoying a lead of two and a half lengths. It was a three-horse race all the way Polvo winning from flag fall to the finish.
